For class times refer to the Class Schedule. CLASS DESCRIPTIONS 4-D Creative Suite* $10.00 Instructor – Barbara Brandon 10-12 A beautiful block will be created each month using the software. Learn techniques to make your embroidery designs truly your own. Skill level: Beginner. 4-D Beyond $10.00 Instructor – Barbara Brandon 1-3 For the owners of 4-D Creative Suite that want to delve further into digitizing and other areas of creativity. Skill level: Beginner. Baby Bonnet $20.00 Instructor – Randa Parrish 1-4 This charming baby bonnet is perfect as a christening bonnet. Skill level: Beginner. Creative Vision I – III* $25.00 per session Instructor – Randa Parrish On Saturday’s 12-4, during the week 10-4 This class allows the new owner of Pfaff’s top of the line machine a clear understanding of it’s many features. Class I - “getting to know the machine”, learning icons, sewing and embroidery functions, hooping Class II - Sewing Sequencing, Shaping and Embroidery Combinations Class III – Precise Positioning and Stitch Creator Students do NOT need to bring their Creative Vision machines to class. Machines will be set up to use for your convenience. You will need to bring all your feet, usb stick, thread, bobbins, scissors, hoops, etc. Skill level: Beginner. These coiled bowls and baskets are fun and easy to make. Best of all, you’ll be able to finish the project in class! Utilizing cording as a base, Montie will share some shortcuts and techniques she’s developed to fashion different shapes and sizes. Warning: These are addictive; you won’t be able to make just one! Terri will show several different methods of machine appliqué and give you plenty of time to practice. Skill level: Beginner. Machine Embroidery* $20.00 Instructor – Barbara Brandon 10-4 Classes are held twice a month, once during the week and once on Saturday. A different project each month will keep you up on the most current techniques in embroidery. The class is designed as an all day class so beginners will not feel rushed. Those proficient in sewing, embroidery and familiar with their machines may finish before class time is over. Skill level: Beginner. Machine Quilting $30.00 Instructor - Terri Gose 9-3 Yes, you can quilt on your sewing machine and make it look great. Terri not only gives information on supplies and techniques, she has you practice on your machine to sharpen your technique. Skill level: Beginner. New York Beauty Made Simple Instructor – Montie Gregory 9:30-4 The New York Beauty block has been admired by many, but attempted by only the bravest quilters. It can be intimidating with its sharp points, curves, and bias edges. Have no fear, you’ll master this block in an afternoon using the Foundation By the Yard preprinted muslin panels and paper piecing techniques. The advantages of using the FBY patterns; there’s no paper to remove after the block is completed, no bias edges, no distorted seams, and your points will be PERFECT every time. Skill level- Advanced Beginner. Paper Pieced Stars $30.00 Instructor – Montie Gregory 9:30-4 Based on Carol Doak’s Simply Sensational 9-Patch Stars, you’ll learn the secrets to successful paper piecing with this star project. Whether you are a first time paper piecer or a seasoned paper piecer, Carol’s technique, shortcuts, tools, foundation paper, and designs are simple and offer outstanding results. Quilting Basics $60 for series of four classes Instructor – Paula Santillan 1-4 A four session class designed to take you from the beginning of quilting, of choosing the right fabric, and lead you through the entire process. A small sampler wall hanging will be made. Designed for not only the beginner but also those who want to refine their skills of quilt making. Skill level: Beginner. Simple Serging* $20.00 Instructor – Randa Parrish 1-4 pm A great class to use to get comfortable with your serger. Small projects are made during the class and techniques shown. Only applies to Pfaff Sergers. Be sure to bring your manual with you. Skill level: Beginner. Stress-Free Triangles $30.00 Instructor – Montie Gregory 9:30-4 One simple block makes this beautiful scrappy quilt. Don’t worry about cutting off points or stretching bias edges, this method requires only straight stitching and strip piecing, it’s the cutting that makes the difference. The design possibilities are endless! The results are stunning whether you choose fabric from two distinct color families, (med-to-dark greens/blues/purples with a contrasting light), all scraps, or a menagerie of batiks. A great class for new quilters, but even “seasoned” quilters will be amazed at the stunning results with the quick piecing & cutting techniques. Perfection every time!
